How long will it take for him to come home because of a general separation discharge?

My husband is at Ft. Jackson, SC for basic training. He hurt his foot and was on profile for a couple weeks. He hadn't started BCT yet because he couldn't p the PT test with an injured foot. Now they are telling him that he will be sent home on a general separation discharge if he can't p the PT test next Monday. If he doesn't p, how long will it take from the time he's told he's being sent home until the time they physically take him off base and he gets on a plane to come home? Will it take a day or two or a week or two? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!
