How can I safely cross Aurora Avenue in Seattle?

I�m considering staying in the Westlake area of Seattle and one consideration is how easy it is to get from there to other neighborhoods E.g. I like to be able to walk and run in the Queen Anne Neighborhood. From the map it looks like I have to cross Aurora Avenue to get from West Lake to Queen Anne. It looks like a very busy street. Is there any safe pedestrian crossings over Aurora Avenue? Thanks for helping out.
